Panthers’ Rivera Expects Olsen To Return To Panthers For 2019 Season

INDIANAPOLIS, I.N. —  Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera says he expects tight end Greg Olsen to return to the team for the 2019 season.

When asked about Olsen while at the 2019 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Rivera said, “Greg has told me he wants to Play.”

Jason Witten is leaving the Monday Night Football Booth to come out of retirement and rejoin the Dallas Cowboys, and some believe Witten’s departure may have implications for Olsen, who we’ve seen working as a television analyst.

The New York Post has reported that the tight end has offers from ESPN and FOX, although he us still under contract with Carolina for two more seasons.

Olsen is still recovering from foot surgery after rupturing his right plantar fascia in Carolina’s 24-17 loss to Tampa Bay on December 2nd, 2018.
