Wilson’s World: Old Pointe Elementary School Students Meet Their First Responders ‘Paper Pals’

ROCK HILL, S.C. –  For six months students at Olde Pointe Elementary School in Rock Hill have been corresponding with their paper pals, first responders from the York County Sheriff’s Office and Rock Hill Police Department.  Today Wilson was with some of the kids and their first responder  as they met each other at the school.

The kids had fun as they met and got to know their paper pals. They shared with Wilson what they had talked about while writing back and forth.  The first responders  talked about how much fun they had as well.  Some of these paper pals are hoping to continue their paper pal communication.

Domtar in Rock Hill hosted today’s meet up for the ‘paper pal’ program.  Domtar is an international company that is based in Rock Hill.  They  design, manufacture, market and distribute a wide variety of communication and specialty papers, market pulp and absorbent hygiene products.

Domtar  also works closely with Classroom Central to provide paper products for students in high poverty schools in the Charlotte area.
