Teen Charged With Burglary In East Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A teen has been charged for his involvement in multiple burglaries in east Charlotte.

On March 14th, 2019, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers responded to a breaking and entering call in the 10800 block of Parkton Road.  Patrol officers spoke with witnesses and were able to develop a suspect description as well as a description of  the vehicle involved the incident.

Due to information gathered throughout the course of the investigation, on March 21st, 2019, a search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence of 17-year-old Ziar Dawkins.

Police also executed a traffic stop related to the warrant, stopping a vehicle involved in multiple burglaries.  Officers located property from the March 14th burglary and property from other incidents as well.

Ziar Dawkins was charged with with Felony Break and Entering, Larceny after Break and Entering, Conspiracy to Commit Break and Entering, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Possession of Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Handgun by a Minor, and two counts of Possession of Stolen Property.
