Two Charged After Weekend Armed Robbery

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have charged two suspects accused of armed robbery over the weekend.

The crime reportedly took place on Sunday in the area of Burkland Drive near Grier Heights. The victim told police they were robbed at gunpoint by two suspects, later identified as Tyriq Kelly, 19, and Eddie Carter III, 21.

The two men were arrested, according to CMPD, after the victim reported their stolen credit card being used at a nearby location.

Carter and Kelly are both charged with one count Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, Financial Credit Card Theft Withholding, and Possession of Stolen Goods.
