Suspect Charged After Man Found Dead In South Charlotte Residence; Victim Identified

The Latest(4/2/19):

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Jonathan Holt Whitlow.

Police have not provided information regarding how Whitlow and the man accused of his murder, 21-year-old Andrew Porter Houston, knew each other or the circumstances surrounding Whitlow’s death.

The Latest(4/1/19):

The CMPD has charged 21-year-old Andrew Porter Houston with Murder and Resisting Public Officer.  Authorities have not identified the victim.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was found dead inside a south Charlotte residence, on Sunday morning.

The CMPD says on March 31st, 2019, at about 3:38 a.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 3900 block of Bon-Rea Drive.

Arriving officers located a man inside the residence, and MEDIC pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it develops.
