GASTONIA, NC — Gastonia Police have identified the driver killed Thursday morning after crashing into a tractor-trailer truck.
The accident happened around 9:17am near the Walmart Neighborhood Market on S. New Hope Road. Police say a 2006 Volvo tractor-trailer truck was pulling out of the parking lot onto S. New Hope when 30-year-old Robert Cole crashed into the truck.
Police say Cole was killed on impact.
The tractor-trailer is owned by Ameri Green Recycling LLC out of Stanly, according to officials.
The investigation is ongoing, but officials say no charges are being filed at this time.
