The LCSO says 32 of those suspects have been arrested as a result of the county wide sweep.
Most of the charges filed have resulted from monitored drug transactions, deputies say, which have been taking place since May of 2018. Other charges, according to the LCSO, are the result of search warrant executions.
Investigators say Heroin, Crack Cocaine, Cocaine, Oxycodone, Meth, Ecstasy and Marijuana were involved in many of the transactions.
Some of the charges include trafficking, distribution and possession with intent to distribute drugs near a school, playground or park.
Deputies say seven of the 50 suspects were not part of the initial investigation. They were arrested on drug charges after deputies say they encountered them during the course of the operation.
“Over the course of the last several days 32 people have been booked into the Lancaster County Detention Center on serious drug charges,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “We will appreciate any help we can get locating those who have not yet been taken into custody. I appreciate the hard work of our Task Force agents who spent long hours including nights and weekends away from their families putting these cases together and the investigators and deputies who helped them round up these defendants. I also want to thank our correctional staff for the outstanding job they do when operations like this dramatically increase the traffic into the detention center. This operation illustrates the resolve all the personnel of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office have in keeping the pressure on the people in our communities who continue to sell drugs.”
