Second Man Charged In 2013 Killing Of Sleeping, Pregnant Teen In West Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has charged a second suspect in the 2013 murder of a pregnant woman in west Charlotte.

Antonio Jennings, 37, was charged Wednesday with the murder of Ondrea Stevenson on December 4, 2013. On March 28th, police also charged Carlos Delonte Knox, 33, in connection to her death.

In December of 2013, investigators said Stevenson was hit by bullets when someone fired shots into her Leake Street apartment while she was sleeping on the living room couch. She later died at the hospital.

Stevenson, then 19-years-old, was three months pregnant at the time of her murder.

Over the course of the investigation, Knox and Jennings were identified as suspects and eventually arrested in March and April of 2019.

Knox is charged with First Degree Murder, Murder of an Unborn Child, and Possession of Firearm by Felon. Jennings is currently charged with First Degree Murder.

CMPD says the case is still active and ongoing and additional information will be released as it develops.
