Suspect Wanted For Deadly March 23rd Shooting Arrested In Wisconsin

CHARLOTTE, NC– Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have charged a man in connection to a homicide investigation on Parkaire Lane.

Taravares Greer, 40, is charged with killing Leonard Lee Bowie Jr., 31, on Saturday, March 23rd.

Police say they found Bowie with multiple gunshot wounds around 1:47pm. He was transported to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later.

Once Greer was identified as the suspect, police say they located him Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Greer was arrested Friday with the help of the FBI Task Force and VCAT.

He is charged with Murder, Possession of Firearm by Felon and Discharging a Firearm Within an Enclosure to Incite Fear.

CMPD says Greer will be extradited to Mecklenburg County, but there is no word yet on when that will take place.
