Wilson’s World: At the 911 Call Center of Gaston County Honoring Our Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

GASTONIA, N.C. – Every year during the second week of April, the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community are honored. Wilson was at the 911 Call Center of Gaston County for National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes at the center.

Wilson also received some great tips and information from some of the dispatchers about what the public should know when they call 9-1-1 and when they should not call.

The group of employees at the 911 Call Center of Gaston Country are hard workers and go through serious training before becoming a public safety communicator.  The dispatchers enjoy their hard jobs, but they also have a fun side as we found out today as they were celebrating Harry Potter Day at the call center.
