Officials say 57-year-old Glen McQuay plead guilty Tuesday to Second Degree Murder in the 2016 burning death of his former girlfriend, Stephanie Harvey.
McQuay was sentenced to an active prison term of 25 to 31 years. In 2017, prosecutors announced they would seek the death penalty if the case went to trial.

HICKORY, NC — Prosecutors announced Wednesday that they will seek the death penalty against a Hickory man accused of a June 2016 murder.
Glen McQuay, 55, was arrested on June 8th by Hickory Police for the murder of 50-year-old Stephanie Harvey. According to reports, Harvey was found lying in the grass outside of her 2nd Street SW home early that morning. She had severe burns to her upper body, and was pronounced dead on the scene.
