ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — One person is dead following a house fire in Rowan County early Wednesday morning.
Crews from multiple fire departments responded to a fire on Rimer Road in Southeastern Rowan County in the early hours of Wednesday, May 1st.
Initial reports indicated one person did not make it out of the residence and the remains of 51-year-old Donald Ray Basinger were found inside the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but investigators do not suspect foul play at this time.
