Wilson’s World: The 2019 Midwood Maynia and Home Tour this Weekend in Plaza Midwood

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –   Plaza Midwood is once again gearing up to welcome spring with their annual Midwood Maynia Festival and Home Tour event.  Wilson was with homeowners in the historic Plaza Midwood neighborhood this morning to find out what visitors will enjoy when they check out the event that will held this Friday and Saturday, May 3rd and 4th.

Wilson went inside one of the houses that will be on the tour to talk with the homeowner to find more about the home and how the owner rebuilt the house while still respecting the history of the house.  He also served up a cold brew to some of the homeowners thanks to Birdsong Brewing.

Again this year there will be lots of fun and entertainment. The event kicks off on on Friday with the candlelight home tour and continues Saturday with Maynia Day events including an outdoor bootcamp,  a pet stroll to Midwood Park, a plant swap, face painting and a party in the park.  The party at Midwood Park also includes vendors, beverages, food trucks, music and lots of fun.  From 11:30am until 7pm enjoy live music and entertainment that includes something for everybody.

A portion of the proceeds from the home tour will go to Urban Ministry.
