Wilson Joins NASCAR Driver Jeffrey Earnhardt as He Shows His Support for the Late K9 Officer Jordan Sheldon
CONCORD, N.C. – Wilson was at Charlotte Motor Speedway this morning with NASCAR driver Jeffrey Earnhardt and officers from the Mooresville Police Department as Jeffrey unveiled the new paint scheme on his Joe Gibbs Racing #18 Toyota Supra that he will be driving on Saturday in the Xfinity series race. The car honors the late Mooresville K9 Officer Jordan Sheldon who was killed while on duty on May 4th of this year. The beautiful red, white and blue paint scheme includes images of Officer Sheldon and his K9 Ramon as well as a large image of a Mooresville police badge on the hood.
Jeffrey was a little emotional and nervous as he talked about his personal connection with Mooresville and Officer Sheldon. Mooresville is not only his hometown but also where Joe Gibbs’ Racing is located. And one of Jeffrey’s sponsors, iK9, was the K9 service that trained Officer Sheldon’s dog Ramon. iK9 is a large supporter of our first responders and our military personnel.
On Saturday and Sunday fans can visit the Toyota Racing Experience area and sign a replica of the hood from Jeffrey’s race car. Jeffrey was the first to sign the hood which will be taken to the Mooresville Police Department next weekend. Tickets are not required to get into the Toyota Racing Experience which is located in front of Charlotte Motor Speedway.
