Authorities Investigating After Gastonia Church’s Cross Set On Fire
GSTONIA, N.C. — Authorities in Gastonia are investigating after someone set fire to a local church’s cross.
According to the Gastonia Fire Marshal, a crew responded to the Loray Baptist Church on West Franklin Boulevard at about 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday morning and found the cross burning on the church’s lawn.
The fire department was able to extinguish the fire and Pastor Kent Cranford says a new cross will be put up at bible study on Wednesday night.
The Gastonia Police Department and Fire Marshall’s Office are investigating.
