Wilson’s World: School’s Out for the Summer at Montclaire Elementary School

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  It’s the last day of the 2018-2019 school year for Charlotte-Mecklenburg students!  And boy are those students and teachers at Montclaire Elementary School ready for the summer with fun and music and a talent show!

Wilson was at the school with the teachers this morning as the students arrived for their last day before enjoying their summer break.  And, it seemed that some of the teachers were just as excited (if not a little more so) than the students for the last day.

And to have a little more fun, it’s National Donut Day so Dunkin’ Donuts dropped by with donuts for the school’s office and a big surprise for Lorena Earp (the resident coffee queen) with free coffee for a year!

Young Gabe who will be going into the 4th grade next year talked with Wilson about what he likes about Montclaire, getting pumped up for next year and what he wants to be when he grows up…and boy was he impressive.  Thanks to Gabe’s Dad James for talking with us as well about how much he appreciates the school and it’s teachers.

Wilson also took the chance to talk with some fifth graders who are leaving Montclaire for their last time today. And he later found out about a connection with Montclaire Elementary and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
