CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says the suspect wanted for the alleged sexual assault of a security guard at a south Charlotte construction site has been arrested.
Robert Harrison, 30, was arrested Monday evening. He is charged with First-Degree Rape, First-Degree Kidnapping and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
According to CMPD, on June 3rd, 2019, at a construction site on New Bern Street in Charlotte, Harrison displayed a firearm and forced a female security guard into a room where he sexually assaulted her before fleeing.
CMPD says the security guard had encountered the suspect sleeping at the construction site and asked him to leave on two occasions prior to the assault.
The victim was treated at a local hospital.
