STATESVILLE, NC — The Statesville Police Department is investigating a homicide after one person died from gunshot wounds late Friday afternoon.
The shooting happened just after 5:00 p.m. at a home on Deaton Street. Police say 24-year-old Marcus Moore was found shot behind a home and transported to a local hospital.
He later died from injuries.
Police say a second victim also showed up at a local hospital, but they have not released any information on that person’s condition. Their name is also not being released at this time.
