INDIAN TRAIL, NC — The Union County Sheriff’s Office says three juveniles robbed a 7-Eleven clerk at knifepoint early Friday morning.
The crime was reported around 2:30 a.m. The clerk told deputies the teens were acting suspicious when they entered the store and tried to steal cigars from behind the counter.
When she tried to confront them, deputies say one of the teens pulled a knife and threatened the clerk.
The teens then took off from the store, officials say, and were later located in a field on Younts Road by deputies and Stallings Police searching the area.
Deputies say a backpack, several BB guns, knives, pellets and cigars were also found in the area.
The UCSO says that while the guns and ammo seen in the photo appear to be “real,” they are actually fake.
The suspects have been released into their parents’ custody, but deputies say they will meet with Juvenile Justice officials to seek petitions against the offenders.
This investigation is ongoing.
