Wilson’s World: Hendrick Automotive and Second Harvest Team Up with their Backpack Program

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Wilson was at Hendrick Honda on South Blvd where, as they have done in years past,  Hendrick Automotive employees were filling 1,000  backpacks as part of their Hendrick Cares Backpack Program.  Teaming up with Second Harvest Food Bank the program provides a backpack full of nutritious, ready to eat or easy to prepare foods that is sent home on weekends and holidays when school meals are not available.

Wilson talked with volunteers with Hendrick Automotive as well as members of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina about the program and the need to help children obtain healthy meals during the summer when they are out of school.

Hendrick Cares is proud to have been a part of helping over 75 organizations that include school, churches and community groups that help provide families with holiday meals that may not otherwise have one.
