Cleveland County Traffic Stop Leads To Meth Trafficking Charges
CLEVELAND COUNTY, NC — A Mecklenburg County man and woman both face meth trafficking charges after deputies say they were pulled over in Cleveland County earlier this month.
Deputies say they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by Kristy Fink, 36, of Charlotte and Peter Distefano, 30, of Mooresville on June 11th.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies say they found and seized 7.2 pounds of methamphetamine. The drugs, which have an estimated street value of $225,000, were reportedly being transported from another state for distribution in Cleveland County and surrounding areas.
Fink and Distefano are each charged with two counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine.
Sheriff Norman states, “We will continue to work diligently to investigate those who are in the business of selling and/or transporting controlled substance in Cleveland County. Getting these people off the streets has and will continue to be my priority.”
