CMPD Charges 3 Suspects In Connection To 2 Armed Robberies

CHARLOTTE, NC — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have charged three suspects accused of committing two armed robberies on Monday.

Police say two of the suspects robbed a Family Dollar on Beatties Ford Road around 1:09 p.m., and then a Wells Fargo Bank on W. Sugar Creek Road about 10 minutes later. The suspects were armed during the commission of the robberies, police say, and escaped in a vehicle driven by the third suspect.

The suspects led CMPD officers on a brief pursuit after their vehicle was spotted shortly after the robberies. Police say they tried to take off on foot near the intersection of Freedom Drive and Little Rock Road, but were quickly detained.

No one was injured and no other incidents occurred during the pursuit.

Two adults and a juvenile have been charged in connection to the robberies.

The charges for the adults are pending, police say. The juvenile will not be identified due to age.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
