CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies say they recovered more than $15,000 worth of stolen equipment during a traffic stop in Catawba County.
A deputy stopped a vehicle driven by Justin Lynch on Old Shelby Road for a traffic violation on July 3rd, according to a news release.
During the stop, the deputy reportedly saw several chain saws and leaf blowers in Lynch’s vehicle. It was determined that Lynch was wanted on outstanding warrants out of Hickory and the property in his vehicle was stolen, according to a news release.
Deputies recovered the following property:
- 3 Stihl leaf blowers – total value $1,650
- 4 Stihl chainsaws – total value $2,600
- Wood chipper – total value $9,000
- Utility trailer – total value $2,000
Deputies also say the leaf blowers and chainsaws were stolen from Mimosa Hills Golf Course in Burke County.
Lynch was charged with possession of stolen property, no operator’s license, exceeding posted speed and served with outstanding warrants for felony larceny. More charges are pending, according to a news release.
