Report: NFL Owners Propose An 18-Game Schedule With A 16-Game Per Player Limit

It’s not a new idea, but it’s starting to gain more traction around the NFL. According to an article by the Wall Street Journal league owners are interested in raising the regular season schedule from 16-games to 18.

The leagues collective bargaining agreement ends after the 2020 season but talks have already begun in hopes of striking a deal potentially before next season.

The report says owners would limit the number of games a player can play in to 16.
