Wilson’s World: Celebrating Bastille Day at 7th Street Public Market and this Weekend’s Charlotte French Festival

The 3rd Annual Charlotte French Festival will be this Sunday, July 14th at Nevin Community Park.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Ever wonder how you should celebrate the French National Holiday Bastille Day?  Well, wonder no more…even thought he was dressed in the wrong Napoleon costume, Wilson has just the idea for you.  He was in Uptown Charlotte this morning at 7th Street Public Market getting us some information on the 3rd Annual Charlotte French Festival that will be held this Sunday.

The French celebrate Bastille Day each year to commemorate when, on July 14th, 1789, troops stormed the Bastille fortress in Paris, a pivotal event at the beginning of the French Revolution.  This year the Charlotte French community will once again celebrate Bastille day with the  3rd Annual Charlotte French Festival.

The festival will include a French style market that will include French food and beverages and vendors showcasing some of the best of the French culture.  And you should bring a lawn chair so you can also enjoy the games and music.  The festival runs from 10:30am until 5:30pm this Sunday, July 14th at Nevin Community Park which is located at 6000 Statesville Rd in Charlotte.  Tickets for the event are only $5 with children under the age of 3 free and can be purchased online.  To purchase tickets and learn more about the event go to their website charlottefrenchfestival.com.
