Woman Recovering After Fall At Crowder’s Mountain

GASTONIA, NC — Officials say a woman suffered non-life threatening injuries after falling 15 feet at Crowder’s Mountain Tuesday afternoon.

Rescue crews with Gastonia Fire and Gaston EMS responded to the call around noon. Officials say crews had to hike roughly one mile through tough terrain to reach the fallen victim.

The woman was reportedly climbing on the mountain with another climber when she fell roughly 15 feet near David’s Castle. Officials say the area is located about one mile away from the radio towers on the north end of the mountain.

The victim was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
