CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD has arrested a man they say tried to break into a northwest Charlotte home Wednesday afternoon while the owner was still inside.
Police say Isiah Davis, 30, began ringing the victim’s doorbell around 1pm and knocking on the door of her Southwind Drive home. When no one answered, he allegedly moved to the side of the house and tried to pull off a window screen.
The victim reportedly hid in her garage and called 911, but Davis took off before officers arrived.
Witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect, who was later identified as Davis.
Police say Davis tried to run from officers once he was located, and had a stolen firearm in his possession at the time of his arrest.
He is charged with Breaking and/or Entering, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Firearm by Felon and Resist/Obstruct/Delay.
