Lightning Strike Causes Fire At Huntersville Home

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — A home caught fire Thursday evening after lightning struck the residence during severe weather that moved through the area.

The home is located on O’Hara Street off of Palomar Drive. Huntersville Fire Department says crews were called after lightning struck the home during Thursday’s storms and set fire to the attic.

Crews arrived to find flames and smoke showing through the roof. Officials say the fire was quickly controlled.

There is no word yet on how much damage was caused to the home.
