Warrants Reveal New Info On Infant’s Death; Mother And Boyfriend Facing Multiple Charges
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Warrants reveal new information regarding the death of toddler Tuesday morning in south Charlotte and the two adults charged in the case.
The mother of one-year-old Jahiem Richardson, Yasmine Richardson, 24, is charged with Felony Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Injury. Police say her boyfriend, Daquan McFadden, 23, is charged with Murder and Felony Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Injury.
Warrants obtained by WCCB Thursday afternoon say Richardson and McFadden both failed to provide medical care for a week, despite Jahiem “suffering from burns to the buttocks and genital area.”
An additional warrant issued on McFadden alleges that he “unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did of malice afterthought” kill and murder the child.
According to the CMPD, officers responded to the Best Western Hotel on Woodlawn Road between South Boulevard and I-77 around 10:43 a.m. on Tuesday.
Responding officers found a one-year-old child in need of medical attention and MEDIC took the child to the hospital where the child died.
CMPD says McFadden is not the child’s father, but has been living with Richardson and the victim.
This is an ongoing investigation.
