“Brazen Criminals” Break Into Burke County Law Enforcement, Fire Vehicles

BURKE COUNTY, NC — The Burke County Sheriff’s Office says they are looking for the “brazen criminals” responsible for breaking into several vehicles over the weekend.

Between 11pm on August 2nd and 10:15am on August 3rd, officials say someone broke into a BCSO patrol vehicle and Hickory Police cruiser.

The patrol vehicle was reportedly parked outside the deputy’s home when the window was broken out. The deputy had however, removed the items from his vehicle and nothing was taken.

Officials with the BCSO say several items were stolen from the Hickory cruiser.

On July 30th, investigators say a volunteer firefighter’s vehicle was broken into around 5:26am. The suspect(s) reportedly smashed the window and stole two firearms from within.
