CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD says the suspect wanted in connection to a July 4th homicide has been arrested in South Carolina.
Jerome Sonny Davis, Jr. was arrested in Spartanburg on Monday by agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). CMPD says Davis is being held in SC until he is extradited to Charlotte where he will be charged with Murder and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Property Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury.
Around 8:42 a.m. on July 4th, police say the body of 23-year-old Khira McKinley was found inside a vehicle on Oakwinds Court off of Old Statesville Road. McKinley was pronounced dead on scene from a gunshot wound.
