Wilson’s World: Enjoying Lunchtime Concerts on The Square at Spirit Square

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Wilson was on The Square this morning where this week Uptown visitors can enjoy free lunchtime concerts each day.  The Caroline Keller Band joined him to give us a quick performance of some of the music that you can enjoy.

The concerts, in partnership with Blumenthal Performing Arts and WFAE, will feature live performances from Charlotte area country artists.  Each free musical performance starts at noon and lasts until 1 p.m. Bring a friend, bring a lunch, and enjoy the music.

Joni Deutsch, host of WFAE’s award-winning Amplifier podcast, will be hosting these concerts along with an event on September 4th at the National Whitewater Center.  This event includes a preview of the upcoming Ken Burn’s documentary “Country Music.”  Free to the public the event and will take a look at not only the documentary, but also highlighting Charlotte music’s role and influence in country music history. There will also be a live taping of the #WFAEAmplifier podcast with Charlotte country musician Bill Noonan and country music historian Tom Hanchett.
