Will Healy Era Opens With A Win For 49ers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It’s a new era in Charlotte and the 49ers left no doubt in their season opening win over Gardner-Webb.

Will Healy secured his first program victory as Charlotte downed the Bulldogs 49-28.

The 49ers entered the season without naming a starting quarterback but Chris Reynolds played the majority of the game going 14 of 20, 136 yds, TD and interception. USF transfer Brett Kean started the game but sat after Charlotte’s second drive ended in an interception.

Charlotte is on the road at App State next Saturday.
