Tracking Hurricane Dorian

Mostly cloudy skies are expected through Thursday night as hurricane Dorian moves along the southeast coast. It will be warm and humid with highs in the low 80s and overnight lows in the low 70s. Windy conditions will develop Thursday and linger through Thursday night before gradually tapering off Friday. Winds could gust to 30 mph, slightly higher in our eastern counties. Areas east of I-77 could see some rain, but no significant impacts are expected with minimal rain totals. Areas along the coast will see the biggest impacts from Dorian, especially along and east of I-95. Heavy rain, storm surge, and gusty winds are likely. Winds will peak late Thursday with gusts reaching as high as 60-75 mph, rain totals will be in the 4-8 inch range with higher amounts locally. Conditions will rapidly improve Friday with mostly sunny skies returning to the southeast with gradually decreasing winds. The weekend looks sunny and warm with highs in the low 90s.
