Wilson’s World: Previewing the #AllinForWren and Laps for Life Blood Drives
FORT MILL, S.C. – Wilson was the Baxter YMCA where he was previewing 2 very important blood drives that will be coming up this month and getting one little girl a cool ride to school this morning.
The first drive will be held this weekend. The #AllinForWren Blood Drive will be held beginning Friday afternoon and continue Saturday afternoon. Wilson introduced us to Wren a few years ago and we learned about her diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. September is Pediatric Cancer Awarness month, and the anniversary of Wren’s diagnosis. Learn more about Wren’s battle and her victory over cancer HERE.
The weekend’s #AllinForWren Blood Drive is a blood drive that the family holds each year to give back to the community to help restock the shelves for the Red Cross. The blood drive will be held this weekend from 2pm until 7pm on Friday and again on Saturday from 9am until 3pm at the Baxter YMCA in Fort Mill. The YMCA is located at Baxter Village at 857 Promenade Walk in Fort Mill, S.C.
Another blood drive is the Laps for Life that will be held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on September 11th. This blood drive not only pays tribute to those who died in the tragedy of the attacks of September 11, 2001 but to also supports Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. Jonathan Cooper with CMS talked to Wilson about the upcoming blood drive at the speedway and even gave little Wren a ride to school in the CMS Roval 400 pace car.
The Laps for Life Blood Drive will be Wednesday, September 11th at CMS. There will be an opening ceremony at 9:30am with a moment of silence to remember those who died on 9/11/2001. The drive will then begin at 10am. Donors will get a ride around the Roval track in a pace car and also receive tickets to Bojangles’ Pole Night. The American Red Cross is always in need of more blood donations. Details on how you can donate or if your group or organization would like to hold a blood drive go the Red Cross website at redcross.org.
