CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For 13 years volunteers with the F.F. Steven Coakley Foundation have honored the victims of the terrorists attack on the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers on 9/11/01 by displaying American flags along with the name and a picture of each life that was taken. And today at Romare Bearden Park volunteers gathered to again continue their promise to never forget as they began constructing the Flags of Remembrance Memorial.
Wilson was with the volunteers this morning as they began placing the 2,977 flags that will become the Flags of Remembrance Memorial. He talked with the volunteers and sponsors of the event to find out how and why they came to work with the Coakley Foundation today.
