GASTONIA, NC — A woman is dead after police say she was hit by a train Wednesday afternoon.
The incident was reported around 4:25pm. Gastonia Police say the woman was hit on the tracks near South Vance Street at W. Franklin Boulevard.

This is an ongoing investigation. The victim’s name has not been released at this time.
