Fire Crews Control 3-Alarm Fire At Popular Uptown Restaurant

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte Fire Department says a three-alarm fire that broke out Monday afternoon in Uptown is under control.

The fire happened just before 3pm at Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen located on the second floor of a high-rise building on N. College Street, according to Charlotte Fire. Fire crews battled the fire for roughly an hour before getting it under control.

Video taken from a nearby building and posted by @Rachalana21 on Twitter shows large amounts of smoke filling the College Street area as crews battled the blaze.

People were evacuated from the building, and no injuries have been reported at this time.

Officials have not yet released any information on what may have caused the fire.
