Wilson’s World: Getting an Update on Everything Going On at the Charlotte Community ToolBank
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson has visited the Charlotte Community ToolBank this morning to get an update on everything currently going on at the toolbank.
The Charlotte Community ToolBank is a nonprofit tool lending program that provides charitable organizations with year-round access to an inventory of tools for use in volunteer projects, facility and grounds maintenance as well as special events. They offer more than 200 different types of tools and equipment from simple screwdrivers to power tools and even generators.
Wilson also had the opportunity to talk with some of the volunteers with organizations that have been working with the toolbank. The Carolina Raptor Center, Carolina Thread Trail, and Trinity Episcopal School are just 3 of the more than 660 non-profit organizations that have worked with the Charlotte Community ToolBank since they opened in 2011.
The City of Charlotte has also been teaming up with the toolbank. Keep Charlotte Beautiful (KCB) is currently accepting Letters of Intent for its Beautification Grant, an annual opportunity which awards up to $5,000 for community beautification projects. This competitive grant is open to neighborhoods, businesses, nonprofits, schools, and individuals citywide. Application for the grants will be open until November 17th. Find out more about the grant and the application process HERE.
The Charlotte ToolBank is getting ready to launch their 12 Days of ToolBank, asking the community to come out and support the toolbank. The event will begin on December 3rd.
