Man Accused Of Murder While Out On Electronic Monitoring

The Latest:

A man who was wanted for cutting off his electronic monitor on October 11th is now accused of killing a southwest Charlotte woman on October 27th.

Mario Ramirez-Duarte is accused of shooting and killing 20-year-old Shandiin Sanchez on Riverbirch Drive. Police say Sanchez was found around 4:49am with a gunshot wound in the roadway near an apartment complex and died at the scene.

It is unclear at this time what led to the shooting.

Ramirez-Duarte was found on Wednesday and charged with Murder.

He also charged with two counts of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Goods, Damage to Property, and Interfering with an Electronic Monitoring Device.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are looking for 19-year-old Mario Ramirez-Duarte. He is wanted on multiple charges, including two counts of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Goods, Damage to Property, and Interfering with an Electronic Monitoring Device.

CMPD says Duarte cut off his electronic monitor Thursday and was last known to be in the area of Morning Drive in southwest Charlotte.
