People Spending More This Black Friday

CHARLOTTE, NC. — The busiest shopping day of the year is coming to a close. Industry experts say people are spending more this Black Friday than last year.

People were pouring into SouthPark Mall throughout the day on Friday. All of them trying to snag some deals.

“There’s so many people! I was like, everyone running into everyone and people screaming at me and I was like, freaking out,” says one shopper.

Over at Concord Mills, Cheri Hinson and her daughter got there at 9 am.

“I save up for like, months to come to Black Friday shopping. It’s the best,” says shopper Harley Hinson.

Analysts say Black Friday sales should be even bigger than a year ago. According to the National Retail Federation, 114.6 million people shopped Friday. Holiday retail sales are expected to increase during November and December between 3.8 and 4.2 percent compared to last year.
