LCSO Says More Than A Dozen People Arrested During Search Of Suspected Drug House In Lancaster County
LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say 13 people were arrested during the execution of a search warrant at a suspected drug house in Lancaster County this week.
According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, agents of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force, the Special Weapons and Tactics Team, and agents from the State Law Enforcement Division and Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant around 6 a.m.at a home located 501 West Barr Street in Lancaster.
The thirteen people found inside the residence were detained while the search was conducted, according to law enforcement officials. During the search, authorities say agents discovered 14 grams of suspected Methamphetamine; three grams of suspected Heroin; 8.5 grams of suspected Marijuana; suspected Oxycodone pills weighing six grams; two pistols, one of which had been reported stolen; and several sets of digital scales.
“We often encounter several people in the houses we search, but I can’t recall ever finding this many people in one spot at 6:00 in the morning during a search warrant,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “This scenario presented challenges for us in safely securing everybody and preserving the contraband we expected to find. However, all the officers did an outstanding job and the drugs and guns were located and appropriate charges were made.”
