Wilson’s World: Visiting The Goodyear House Restaurant in NoDa

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Note:  Today’s Wilson’s World was recorded prior to the new restrictions and the social distancing that has gone into effect due to the coronavirus issue.  We suggest that you connect with The Goodyear House and please support them as well as other local restaurants with to go orders or gift cards during this time.

The Goodyear House located at 3032 North Davidson Street in NoDa is a neighborhood gathering place and restaurant. The restaurant is located in a house that was built in the early 1900s and renovated in 2019 to accommodate the business while maintaining the proud history of the house, a history which is displayed throughout.  It has been decorated with pictures of families that lived in the house previously and furnished with repurposed and found items from families, churches and other buildings.

Chef Chris Coleman is not only a partner in The Goodyear House, but he is also a former contestant and winner on “Chopped.”  So of course his menu has his own twist and utilizes the freshest local products available.  Chef Coleman has also created a menu for those younger diners as well.  Wilson had the opportunity to try one of the special dishes served at The Goodyear House.

As per mandate of Governor Roy Cooper, as of 5pm today, The Goodyear House, as well as all restaurants and bars in North Carolina, will no longer be open for dining room service. Currently, The Goodyear House will offer curbside pickup ordering available by phone (704) 910-0132, and online ordering will be on the website today — https://thegoodyearhouse.com/.  Delivery through third-party apps like Grubhub, Postmates, etc… will be available soon as well. They have increased their sanitation practices to keep the health and safety of their guests and employees at the forefront.
