3-Year-Old Wounded In Drive-By Shooting In Kannapolis

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Kannapolis Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that left a 3-year-old suffering from life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers found the girl at a home on Buick Avenue around 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, a news release stated. The child was taken to a Atrium Health for treatment.

Police say the parents of the child were also at home at the time of the shooting and were not injured.

According to police, those believed to be responsible for the shooting drove by the residence in a dark colored sedan which is the object of a search. The suspect(s) was last seen traveling down Ford Street and in the direction of Dale Earnhardt Boulevard.
