Juvenile Charged With Murder Of 16-Year-Old At East Charlotte Gas Station

The CMPD has charged a 16-year-old juvenile for the murder of 16-year-old Reginald Deveaux in east Charlotte Thursday night.

Police say the 16-year-old suspect shot Deveaux at the Citgo at the intersection of Morningside Drive and Commonwealth Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.  MEDIC took Deveaux to the hospital where he died about an hour later.

Following an interview with Homicide Unit detectives, the juvenile was transferred to a juvenile detention center and charged with murder.

The case is still under investigation and more information will be released as it develops. CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD detectives are conducting a homicide investigation after a victim died at the hospital after being shot at a gas station parking lot in east Charlotte Thursday night.

The incident happened at a Citgo at the intersection of Morningside Drive and Commonwealth Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

According to CMPD, when officers arrived they located the male victim with gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital around an hour later.

The victim’s identity has not been released at this time.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
