West Iredell High School Will Continue In-Person Classes After First COVID Case

STATESVILLE, N.C. — A student or employee tested positive for coronavirus on West Iredell High School campus on August 20th, according to a news release.

School officials say in-person classes will continue as scheduled, and they urge employees and students to not come to school if they develop any symptoms associated with COVID-19.

The Iredell County Health Department issued a deep cleaning of the school before it reopens in the morning.

All students and staff must get their temperature checked daily, as well as follow CDC guidelines including wearing masks and social distancing, according to a news release.
