CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Following the Milwaukee Bucks boycott of their NBA playoff game on Wednesday, once again this week the sports world was at the center of the conversation surrounding the fight for racial equality and social justice.
The NBA led the charge as sports leagues across the country followed suit in protest of the social injustices and racial inequality once again brought up after the shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin.
Multiple teams across the NFL canceled practice but the Panthers were not one of them. Instead the Carolina players continue to have conversations amongst themselves and with management. No one knows exactly what to do next, but action is certainly needed. New Panthers DT Zach Kerr spoke to the media on Friday and highlighted the importance that it’s not on athletes to solve the problem of systemic racism.
