Hornets Fire Radio Broadcaster John Focke After Tweet With N-Word

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets have fired radio broadcaster John Focke following their investigation into his use of a racial slur in a tweet last month.

Focke tweeted the N-word when attempting to discuss a playoff game between the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz.

Focke quickly deleted the tweet and issued an apology saying he did not know how he mistyped. The 2019-20 season was Focke’s first with the Hornets.
