CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the second day in a row Ian Thomas missed practice on Thursday. The Panthers tight end suffered a hyper extended toe in practice on Monday. But with the regular season opener quickly approaching the prognosis is promising for Thomas.
βI list him as day-to-day,β Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said.
The Panthers season opener is on Sept. 13. They will have one more practice on Friday before the roster must be cut down to 53 by 4pm Saturday.
“I think our team has done a nice job, guys have battled,” Rhule said. “So there’s several guys who are fighting for different opportunities and different roles, but I think for the most part we have a good feel for who our team is and just trying to solidify a couple things.”
