24-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured After Mint Hill Shooting

MINT HILL, N.C. — Mint Hill Police are investigating after a 24-year-old man was shot in front of a business Monday evening.

The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. on Margaret-Wallace Road, nearby Idlewild Road.

Upon arrival, officers located a man lying on the sidewalk in front of one of the businesses. The victim had been shot, but was conscious.

According to police, the man was in surgery Monday night at Atrium Health due to his injuries.

Officers believe the man may have been targeted and that the incident does not appear to be a random act. Police found multiple shell casings at the scene.

This is an active investigation.
